“ I recently visited the new Capital Seafood Restaurant for dim sum, and it was a delightful experience! The restaurant uses traditional carts to display and serve their dim sum, which adds a nice nostalgic touch to the dining experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, including 燒賣 (siu mai), 蝦腸粉 (shrimp rice rolls), 牛雜 (beef tripe), 叉燒包 (BBQ pork buns), 鹹水角 (fried dumplings), 蘿蔔糕 (turnip cake), 蝦餃 (shrimp dumplings), 腐皮捲 (tofu skin rolls), 波蘿奶皇包 (pineapple custard buns), 排骨 (pork ribs), and 雞爪 (chicken feet). My personal favorites were the 腐皮捲 and 燒賣--they were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The service was also impressive. We were seated promptly, and the dim sum carts started coming our way right after we sat down, which made the meal enjoyable and efficient. Overall, it was a great dim sum experience with good food and service. I'll definitely be coming back! ”
“ We had to give them a second visit just for dim sum again. Our first experience was really good food. This second visit, we experienced a lot of items ranging from out so we had to wait for the to cook some more. Maybe because we came late on a Sunday. The only issue I had was that we asked if the had snow pea sprouts, the waiter brought us the menu to us what vegetables they offer. We selected one and I failed to ask how much because when I got the bill, we paid $28 for a vegetable dish when we could have gotten Chinese broccoli from the cart and it would have been a lot cheaper. It was delicious, but are any vegetables worth almost $30? I do like the variety of dim sum that they offer here, so I'm sure I will come back if I am in the area. ”
“ 4.5-5 STARS This is our go-to dim sum place on the weekends in the Rowland/Diamond Bar area. The line outside of the restaurant can be daunting after 10am, but the turnover is very quick at this restaurant so it's worth the wait. Best items to get for dim sum here include: chicken feet (fong zua), pork and shrimp siomai, shrimp dumplings (ha gow), shrimp noodle (xia chang fun), fried pork dumpling (xian shui jiao), pork spare ribs (pai gu), and the fried smelt fish. The items are always super fresh coming out of the kitchen and I have never had to deal with being frustrated about getting a cold item that's been sitting on the cart forever. Highly recommend going with a group so you can try all of the dishes. The restaurant itself is huge so you can bring larger parties of 6-8 without a problem. Prices are very affordable here too with each dish being around $4. Can't beat that! ”
“ I haven't been to New Capital Seafood Restaurant in a long time, so I decided to come here with my family--parents, brother, sister, nieces, and nephew--for a Friday lunch get-together. We couldn't make a reservation since they only accept them for dinner, but when we arrived at 1 pm, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and it was quite spacious. We were seated at a large table, and the service was impressively quick. We enjoyed some dim sum and ordered additional dishes from their menu. After placing our order, the food started arriving promptly, with two to three dishes at a time. The service was great, and the food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. What's more, the prices are still very reasonable. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with fast service and ample seating. I'll definitely be returning soon! My Personal Rating : 4.36 Food 4.2/5 Staff 4.6/5 Price 4.4/5 Ambiance 4.3/5 Cleanliness 4.3/5 ”
“ I absolutely love this place. We came here on a Sunday at around 12 pm. We took a number, and the place was absolutely packed! It's upstairs, and they have an elevator as well to get upstairs. Parking can be tough sometimes, but they also have underground parking as well. We are always able to find a spot. We waited about 30 minutes before our table was ready. We grabbed a number and waited for us to be called. They turnover tables pretty quickly but get there early because the wait can be long. Once seated, it was now dim sum time! They bring the food on carts and you have to look at the cart and decide which foods to get and how many. They then put it on the table and stamp your card. The card represents your bill at the end. It's a very fast-paced but friendly environment. They also have different people who walk by who get the tea and the water and whatever else you need. Food is always delicious, we get everything from sumai to hakow to buchi. Try everything!! Bill came out to about $220 for about 9 of us, and we had our fill. We always come to this dimsum spot whenever we can. It's a great way to eat some good food, have good conversation, and try new things!! Very delicious!! We'll definitely be back again! ”
“ We've been coming here for years, and we've learned to navigate some issues that more or less impacted our enjoyment of the restaurant: availability of parking, length of wait, language barrier, etc. We solved all that by making sure that if we came during the weekend, we'd arrive before 9:30am. That way, there is virtually no wait for a table and parking is plentiful. The dim sum selection is expansive - and without a menu. Ladies come around with their carts and you point out what you want. We love everything we get. We stick to our favorites - pork spare ribs, sticky rice in leaves, shumai, hargow, chicken feet, taro puffs, etc. The taste has always been consistent, so we have no complaints about the food. It's delicious and satisfying. Even the pickiest eater will have something they'll like. The noise level is loud because lots of families love eating there. The carpeting helps mute the sounds though. It's not a romantic date place, so calibrate expectations. This is not a restaurant where you can linger for hours. Don't expect the typical warmth you get from SoCal restaurants because that's not their style. They will however do what they can to get you what you need. Whether it's ice water or soy sauce (you have to ask for it) or extra napkins. I appreciate their efficiency despite some of the employees not knowing English. Their briskness is purposeful. Prices are reasonable, and you will leave feeling full. It's a restaurant we keep coming back to because we get so much bang for our buck. ”
